Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) at MSS International
For MSS International, a sustainable environment within the context of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria refers to practices and conditions that ensure the long-term health and viability of ecosystems, our community, and our business.
Corporate Environmental Responsibility
MSS International takes proactive steps to reduce its environmental impact, such as setting and achieving sustainability goals, reporting on environmental performance, and integrating environmental considerations into its business strategy.
Key Components of a Sustainable Environment under ESG:
- Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation: Involves adopting strategies that minimize environmental impact, conserve resources, and promote ecological balance.
- Mitigation: Efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, such as investing in renewable energy, enhancing energy efficiency, and reducing carbon footprints.
- Adaptation: Implementing strategies to adjust to the effects of climate change, such as building resilient infrastructure and adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
Practical steps we are taking
- Infrastructures: Our buildings are new or renovated, well insulated and we make maximum use of natural light. Throughout the period 2020-23 we have planted more than 90,000 trees, with further trees being planted in the future
- Energy: Efficient use of energy, transitioning to renewable sources, and reducing dependency on fossil fuels. 25% of our group current power consumption derives from solar panels, with planned yearly increases
- Materials: Sustainable sourcing, recycling of our raw materials, and reducing waste. 90% of our lead and 100% of our brass supply comes from recycled material. Any wooden material from packing is recycled to make boxes for DCB project shipments
- Water: Responsible water use, reducing waste, and protecting water sources from pollution through modern infrastructures
